The new pre-alpha release of Assassins Creed III footage shows sharp uniforms, snow, sheer cliff faces and treetop views. Set in American-revolution sequel style, Union Jacks fly and weary looking soldiers trawl on across docks. Pre-rendered footage and actual gameplay is merged together, giving a not-quite true predicted image of what it’ll actually look like when playing.

You can choose from weaponry including sawtooth swords, tomahawks, grappling hooks and pistols, not forgetting new old-age muskets. Moves such as barrel-rolling through apartments bring multiple new possibilities to the game.

According to The Independant, “Connor slides under branches as he legs it around the exploding green plains, and then climbs all over the landscape, way up in trees and on icy rock faces, barely stopping to hang a British soldier on the way, knifing a few of his mates for good measure.”

Assassins Creed III is out at the end of October this year and will be available on PS3, XBOX360 and PC.

X: The unheard music is a rockumentary about the iconic LA punk band ‘X’ scene from the early 80′s. Director and editor W.T. Morgan released the film to the world in ’86, with stars including John Doe, Bonebrake, Cervenka Exene and Billy Zoom.

The punk band X, was formed of four members who originally started jamming together in the 70s, and took the LA area by storm. Their music was a crowd puller, gathering in hundreds of fans to clubs and gig venues including the infamous Starwood. Their music headed a punk revolution – forceful songs, iron-clad characteristics and a striking look. X could easily claim to have been the leaders of the Californian music industry, branding themselves as an underground pack leader of music.

Taking five years to produce, The Unheard Music highlights the lives and daily ins and outs of the four rockstars in the band. It includes footage of the actors in discussion and interviews key staff members in the film. Most of the songs that were done by the band group X can still be herd in social scenes today including Los Angeles, Year One, Because I do, Soul Kitchen, Beyond and Back, The Unheard Music, Real Child Of Hell, We’re Desperate and The Have Nots among others.
